Who We Need:

 

We’re searching for a seasoned communications practitioner with recent security industry experience. The person in the position of PR Manager will report to the Director of Global Communications, and will have the opportunity to drive media programs for our team of threat researchers and security experts who process emerging and established threats every day, from all over the globe. Focus areas will include media relations, executive communications, agency management, and project management.

 

  

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Work with the Director of Global Communications to evolve and promote the corporate narrative working with key stakeholders across the business
  • Drive awareness for Malwarebytes through proactive story placement in tier-one business, security and technology media outlets and high-level speaker placements
  • Storyteller – through your deep understanding of the editorial and media landscape you are able to craft stories and content that resonate in specific regions and reaches IT security teams and business decision makers.
  • Contribute to and execute the corporate communications global plan with a heavy focus on PR initiatives to drive visibility around Malwarebytes leadership in cybersecurity
  • Develop storylines around cyber threat data analysis 
  • Develop strong and trusted relationships with Malwarebytes PR agencies
  • Prep key spokespeople for media interviews and speaking opportunities
  • Steer company's news agenda and calendar, working with other members of communications team
  • Evaluate and leverage communications tools to gauge campaign effectiveness (examples: share of voice, tonality)
  • Produce key messages, press releases, one pagers, presentations/keynotes, Q&As, case studies, thought leadership pieces, bylined articles, executive briefing materials, and other communications assets
  • Provide strategic support to our Social Media team

 

 

Skills You’ll Need To Have:

 

  • A solid understanding and experience working within the international landscape.
  • 7+ years of experience in writing, communications or a related field (e.g. in corporate, journalism, government, political, or nonprofit settings).
  • Solid relationships with tier-one journalists covering the cybersecurity industry.
  • Ability to manage global agencies to established KPIs
  • Experience in influencing through robust relationships, expertise, social media and data.
  • Creative problem-solver, with the ability to think, plan, and execute on multiple projects autonomously and in an organized fashion, balancing the long-term and urgent needs of the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly and collaboratively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, maintaining good judgment and the ability to escalate appropriately.
  • Ability to collaborate with a complex set of stakeholders (marketing, engineering, research) and experience working with senior executives.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in Journalism or Public Relations or Communications.
