What You'll Do:


  • Deploy, administer, monitor and optimize the Big Data infrastructure as well as enterprise cloud applications and networks in Amazon AWS
  • Help support multiple Kafka clusters including zookeepers, brokers, kafka-streams workers and kafka-connect workers running in AWS
  • Leverage Jenkins pipeline DSL to build repeatable jobs for new projects
  • Leverage Terraform and Ansible to build out or update AWS infrastructure
  • Help monitor and maintain various other applications and service including Redis, Tableau, Trifacta, Qubole, R Server, Snowflake, and Looker
  • Work with other SRE team members to improve upon and build internal tools
  • Follow and evangelize documented engineering best practices
  • Create comprehensive documentation to a level by which processes are reproducible by others
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in cloud technology and in DevOps processes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support our production systems.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders.



Skills You'll Need to Have:


  • Fast learner and able to work in a fast pace startup environment
  • Extremely flexible with day to day duties and willing to continually learn new software and setup new environments
  • Must have an agreeable personality, work well with others, and possess good communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in designing, deploying and administering Amazon AWS cloud services. (EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, Route53, Elasticache, VPC, VPN, CloudWatch Logs are the core set of technologies that we leverage)
  • An in-depth knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including networking, file systems, and security best practices
  • Python, Bash, Terraform, and Jenkins DSL are languages that you will work with regularly.
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and tuning web services/API’s.
  • Excellent knowledge of git best practices (Github)
  • Experience with end to end, deployment automation
  • Good understanding of modern micro-services architectures
  • Experience creating and/or implementing disaster recovery plans
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related disciplines and 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure services or related field with at least 3 years of Linux experience. Additional training, technical certification, and/or experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience using git
  • Experience running production docker containers
